Making Do

Alright, so what do you use if it is midnight on a Saturday night, you take your four year old to go potty, and he's burning up with fever? Hmm...
Your brain may be telling you, use a digital thermometer.
WRONG!
It's midnight, remember, oh, and I forgot to mention you have an 18 month old who likes to take his temperature.
Well, you use a meat thermometer, of course.
It is actually a lot faster than digital ones, and always in the right spot, the utensil drawer in the back left corner.
And as long as it can accurately tell me that me meat is medium rare, I trust it to tell me that my four year old is well-done at 103 degrees.

8 Words to brighten my day:

That's hilarious (to me- probably not you at 12 a.m. this morning). It would never have crossed my mind! What a funny visual image. I hope Jackson will feel better soon.

I guess I misread that- here's to hoping that BRENNAN feels better soon!

That's some pretty good creativity. I don't think I would've thought of that.

Hope the kid is feeling better soon! And I love the turkey picture - David totally freaked out when he saw it from a distance - he thought I was looking at a girl in a bikini!

You are very creative, but twisted! That reminds me of something your Mama would do...ask her (or me) about taking my temp right after we got married. When we had no thermometer so she borrowed a rectal one from her grandparents. And we had no vaseline, but we did have some Vick's Vaporub. I leave the rest to your imagination.

And I hope Brennan is feeling much better.

Ooh oh! Pick me! My food handler's permit (required in lancaster county for food service industry workers, but not required in douglas county) taught me how to calabrate those! Exciting.

Wow- I got excited there...I hope Brennan feels better soon. I think there is something going around.
