Brennan just discovered that my birthday is coming up, so he is telling everyone that I will be "28 on 31". (His wording, not mine.) Since I will be in LA and might not be blogging during the holidays, I decided to use NaBloPoMo as the opportunity to share 28 things about myself.
- My hair has always been blonde, but it is getting darker and that freaks me out.
- I want to learn how to cut my boys hair, but I am too cheap and nervous to buy a pair of clippers and try it.
- I have a Keloidal scar on my chest, from what I haven't a clue.
- My favorite food is spaghetti, with oatmeal cookies a close second.
- I love to sing in the car to the radio, and I'd really like to sing in a choir (if our ward had one), but I am too embarrassed because I can't really sing well.
- I won a $2000 shopping spree when I was 16 and got to go on a trip to Hollywood, CA.
- Tattoos freak me out. So does fingernail polish on the finger nails.
- When I was in first grade my family was moving from Maryland to Louisiana. I went to Louisiana early (b/c of school) and lived with my grandparents. While there, my uncle dropped me as he was holding me up high in the sky and I still have a chipped/slightly discolored tooth because of it.
- I really miss my friends. Yesterday I watched Chuck and Larry and got teary eyed when A.Sandler went clothes shopping with the lawyer. It reminded me of a trip I made with one of my friends to Alabama and we tried on a bunch of clothes at The Limited. I miss tons of things about all of you, and it makes me super sad that I don't have this awesome group anymore.
- I wish I could decorate cakes like my mom.
- I'd rather watch movies at home then in a theater.
- I took Japanese in high school, hardly remember any of it now, and wish I'd paid better attention.
- I was salutitorian and can't even spell it.
- My most prized possessions are my scrapbooks and my black pea coat.
- I am terrified of the winter that is fast approaching.
- Bart and I dated only a few weeks before we were engaged. We were friends for 7 months before he even asked me out. Oh, and I was 19 when I got engaged, and turned 20 20 days after I got married. (Young, dumb, yep, but I'd still marry the crazy fool!)
- The day after we "unofficially" got engaged, I went on a cross country trip with two other guys. (not Bart)
- I am a terrible snowboarder.
- Don't let all the complaining fool you. I really do love being primary president.
- I wish my house looked like it came out of Pottery Barn, and I wouldn't mind if my home was on any HGTV makeover show.
- One day, I will be the "breadwinner".
- I have blue eyes, big feet, and a mole under my right eye.
- My alma mater is LSU. I graduated with a degree in Secondary Education, taught one year, then "retired" when I had Brennan.
- I want my children to behave as respectable southern gentleman.
- My favorite movie is Sweet Home Alabama.
- I am not a huge pet fan, even though we have a dog.
- I hate baths but love showers.
- I want for my family to be happy and successful in all they do and I worry that my children might not choose the perfect paths to happiness as they grow older.
7 Words to brighten my day:
Does fingernail polish on other people freak you out? I always think I'd like to get a manicure but when I do, it only lasts a day before it chips. I just do too much with my hands. I do love a good pedicure though.
Speaking of tattoos, I wanted one once when I was a teenager- thank goodness I grew out of that phase. They look look okay on other people but I just cringe when I think how they'll look when they're 80 with a tattoo on their boob. Definitely not a sexy visual picture!
Happy early 28th. I turned 28 this year too, but I can't ever remember my age when people ask. I enjoyed your 28 facts! Good luck with this winter. I'm the world's worst driver in snow.
Hey, I'm with you on #13!
Happy early birthday! I was surprised at how much of your stuff I already knew but then I remembered that we practically grew up together. It caused me to stop and reflect on the good ol' days at VHS, freeze-outs in Sis. Ackley's car, the "haunted library" at the Ferriday branch, etc.
SO, I've always wondered about the scar, but felt it would be rude to ask. Now I know. Maybe I shouldn't tell you this, but I have two tattoos and REALLY want more.
Doesn't Bart have like 3 tattoos?
Um... about your blog title...
We decorated for Christmas on the
7th because we already celebrated Thanksgiving on the 4th. I think we gave due attention to both the pilgrims AND the Indians. So there.
(You know I'm kidding of course)
