Adventures in Cloth Diapering, 1 of several

Photobucket

So, I have been using cloth diapers only about once a day (because I only have one for each boy :) but yesterday I got a GRO baby in the mail and I picked up a cloth diaper I won from a friend's blog (Smartiepants). So, for the next two days, I can use 3 a day!
I haven't had any problems with leaks, and both boys have slept in a cloth diaper a few times. The only thing that hasn't happened yet, that I am still dreading a little, is poo...Ethan still hasn't had a BM while in his cloth diaper. So...stay tuned...my song may be changing once that happens.

I'll be waiting to hear what you think of #2! I don't think I could do cloth diapering, but I give kudos to you for trying! :-)

I'm very interested in hearing what you think of #2 also. I'd like to try cloth diapering, but cleaning the BM's just doesn't sound too appealing to me.

I have a sprayer attached to the water line on my toilet. I love it! It looks like a sink sprayer, and you just spray the poop off the diaper into the toilet, and throw in your wet or dry diaper pail. Let me know if you want to try prefolds, too! I have every kind of cloth diaper I think, :)

Ive wanted to try cloth dipers but my son is always leaking through his dipers so I dont know how well a cloth one would work.

I'm excited because my smartipants diapers for Leo shipped today. I also stopped by Circle Me a cloth diaper store in Lincoln over lunch today. Looks like a great store I'm glad I was on lunch break with a friend I may have spent a ton of money in there. I even saw the sprayer Dawne mentioned.

Rebecca, thanks for entering. the hard part for me was also convincing my dh to get involved. finally, he said, OK, give it a shot... one thing that also helped was tell him that cloth diapers are re-sellable!! so if you don't like it or it's not for you, you can always resell them and make money back! you could never do that with disposables! over the past year i have bought and sold some diapers, so it's good to know i've already made some money back.

the day care thing is tough, but you will still save money (and the environment) by doing cloth part time. and you wouldn't have to commit to a large amount of diapers either.

Good luck!
oh, and the whole poo thing really isn't that bad! ;)
