Nine years ago today, my parents, Bart and I entered the Dallas Texas Temple in the wee hours of the morning so that Bart and I could be married for "time and all eternity". (Read links to find out more about LDS temple marriage if you are interested)
It was cold, a bit rainy, and overcast, and the outfit I was supposed to wear that morning had met a terrible fate (he, he!) but we entered the House of the Lord with smiles on our faces as we knelt across from each other and become one family.
In the nine years I've been married to Bart, I've learned a lot. In honor of our ninth year of marriage (and because I am feeling blah from having mastitis {though the meds. are starting to help a lot!} and we aren't going out on a cool date that I can blog about like we did last year) I'll list the top nine things I've learned from being married to Bart.
1. NEVER sit down on the toilet without first checking the closed shower curtain.
2. ALWAYS remind Bart to stop seasoning dinner BEFORE he thinks there is enough.
3. LAUGH often, and together...not just at each other.
4. LSU sports overrules all other t.v. selections.
5. FAITH and PRAYERS will help overcome even the toughest of obstacles.
6. Have FUN...try something new.
7. It's necessary to be silly...otherwise Bart will start to think something's wrong.
8. TOGETHER we are a strong team.
9. I've learned I sure married the right man...I'm so glad I fell for the "Tattooed Pierced Freak" with his bright yellow "chic getter" shirt and crazy haircuts!

9 Words to brighten my day:
Awww Jess, Happy Anniversary. Man if yall were here you could share in the snow day with us.
Happy anniversary Janel and I just celebrated our 6th last Sunday.
You guys looked so adorable (and young!!!) on your wedding day and you guys STILL look adorable together to this day. Congrats on 9 years- almost a whole decade! That's quite an accomplishment in today's world. Even if you're not going out on some adventure like last year, I hope you got to snuggle up with your honey! Here's to the rest of eternity you have together ;-)
Congratulations!!!
congratulations! you do make some darn cute kids!!!
:)
Wow 9 years, that's awesome!!! You two do make the cutest kids ever. Are you sure you don't want any more?
Congrats on 9 years and many, many, many more to come! Your kids ARE adorable. Mastitis is the worst. I hope your antibiotics take care of it fast (I'm assuming that's what you're taking, because that's what I was prescribed).
Happy Anniversary! And cute family pic too.
I haven't heard the story about the original outfit you were supposed to wear- what's that all about?
