Red Lion Inn, Idaho Falls, ID

We stayed at the Red Lion Inn in Idaho Falls, ID, during Justin and Jess's wedding.  We stayed in the part that is a circle, which meant the rooms were not perfect squares, but more of a trapezoid, so it was kind of neat.
My parents room was a few doors down (they requested to have the falls directly out their window).  I didn't mind, it meant they didn't hear us and we didn't hear them, lol.
THere was a duck who had laid eggs in front of the breakfast place and the boys were fascinated with it.
My favorite part was the access to the temple.  It was directly across the Snake River and very visible from our rooms.  It brought a sense of peace and joy to our rooms...Ethan LOVED to peek out the window and yell "TEMPLE!" every time he saw it!
If I were to travel and have the choice of a Red Lion Inn again, I'd definitely stay there!

Brennan gets baptized

Brennan was baptized this month in Natchez, Ms.  Bart baptized him and my entire family, plus his dad, were there to be part of the special day, along with friends and family from church.  I was baptized in Natchez in 1988 so it was neat to have Brennan choose to do it there as well.
Brennan is growing up so much and it makes me very happy to see him turn into such a good young man.  He actually attended his first Cub Scouts activity yesterday and is preparing for a big hike on Saturday with them.  I love that he is so excited to learn and grow and also to be a good example to his younger brothers.

Congratulations Brennan!  We love you!

Adjusting

This summer it's been LOUD in my house, but that is okay...most of the time.
Today the bigger boys left with Grandma and Papa for Louisiana, leaving me with Little Boy Ethan.
And I must admit...it is almost TOO quiet around here.  It makes me worry about what Ethan and I will do with ourselves, once Jackson graduates from "junior kid" (Brennan's words) to "big kid" when school starts August 15...it's going to be a big adjustment for this mama and her youngest little dude.

Kristen's Baby Shower...It's A Girl!

What happens when two mama' who have only boys hosts a baby shower for a nameless baby girl? We go into overdrive!  (A pout because we can't get anything monogrammed with the baby' name...but a mother's desire is not to be overruled by two overzealous hostesses)
All pillowcase dresses and bows made by me. All diapers bought by Megan.
It was a great way for both of us to get our fix of girlishness!

The tablescape
Close up of baby's diaper...I printed the Ooga Booga print onto a frosting sheet...Kristen uses cloth and one of the diapers Megan bought was this print, so it was perfect to use!  Notice the adorable tiny pink pearl necklace!

Side view of the cake...LOVE those diaper pins!

Thank you cookies.  Made using this recipe.  Next time I will embellish the with gumpaste.  These cookies are great b/c they stay soft for days so you can make them a day or two ahead of time...and the quick pour icing sets firm!

FOOD!  Yum.  Megan did a great job of creating our food table.  The only thing I did was make diaper pin candies using candy melts.

Kristen, thanks for having a little girl so Megan and I can get our girl fix! It is a lot cheaper then adopting (esp. because Megan and I have so many "Must haves" on our "adopt a baby girl" list.  I had a lot of fun planning and executing this party and I can't wait to meet Ms. Nameless.

Somebody's Gettin' Married Tomorrow!

My baby brother is getting married tomorrow in the Idaho Falls Temple!  I am super excited to be here and able to be part of his big day.  I've had a great time getting to know Jess...it's weird, though...meeting her and her mom is sort of like reuniting with someone I've known my whole life.
Congratulations Justin and Jessica, the Remington family is very happy and excited for you!
Justin, you are going to make a wonderful husband (and one day father!)  I love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
